Jen Rinaldi, PhD, Assistant Professor, took home the Early Career Teaching Award at the March 28 Celebrate Teaching! awards ceremony.


Dr. Brian Cutler appointed incoming editor of scholarly book series

Brian Cutler, PhD, Professor, was recently appointed incoming editor of the American Psychology-Law Society Book Series, published by Oxford University Press. Dr. Cutler assumes the role of editor in August 2019. 


Dr. Vivian Stamatopoulos to deliver keynote address at Young Carers Symposium 

Vivian Stamatopoulos, PhD, Assistant Teaching Professor, will speak about the young carers movement and what Canada can do to match other international movements. This will be Quebec's first Young Carers Symposium.

Dean Peter Stoett announces Toronto Expert Group Communiqué on Environmental Security and Transnational Environmental Crime

In January 2019, FSSH Dean Peter Stoett, PhD, invited a group of top experts in international environmental crime to gather for a two-day workshop at the Canadian Institute For Advanced Research (CIFAR). A comprehensive communiqué was recently released; it outlines the need for collaborative actives to approach the nexus between transnational environmental crime and environmental security. FSSH graduate student receives SWAAC Student Award in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Kaitlin Fredericks, a PhD student in the FSSH Criminology and Social Justice program, recently received the 2019 Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada (SWAAC) Student Award in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. The award recognizes a university or college student who advances equity, diversity and inclusion within and/or outside their institution through dedication or community outreach and activism.
