Technology-enriched Learning Environment

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) TELE model

UOIT's key differentiator

UOIT is a leader in implementing and using industry-specific software in a technology-enriched learning environment (TELE). One of the greatest advantages of the university's approach is that all students have equal access to the same technology resources and services. Whether you are inside or outside of the classroom, state-of-the-art academic software allows students to download class notes, work on their own or with others and enjoy seamless access to all online resources and software products. Students are exposed to specific program-based software, which is a great benefit in today's competitive job market.

The university will provide students in the BYOD TELE model with curriculum-specific software that can be used on each student’s own device by using minimum hardware standards to guide students’ choice of technology. If a student's own device becomes unavailable, a short-term rental program will be provided through Information Technology (IT) Services for a nominal fee.

To review the minimum hardware standards and other detail information, visit the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities' TELE pages on the IT Services website.
