Dr. Kimberley Clow

Biography
Dr. Kimberley Clow received her PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and she joined the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in 2004. Professor Clow typically teaches research based courses, as well as Introductory Psychology. Her primary area of interest is in the realm of stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination. Current research projects in this area look at stigma in the criminal justice system, the effects of stereotypes on decision-making, masculinity and femininity subtypes, and stereotypes of men in nursing.
Professor Clow is particularly interested in how individuals perceive one another, the consequences of those perceptions, and possible ways of altering those perceptions. She enjoys collaborative research with students, colleagues in the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, colleagues from other faculties at UOIT, colleagues from other universities and colleagues from the community. Research grants: Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) project (2009-2014) - Working to improve the inclusion of visible minorities and immigrants in second and third tier Ontario cities.
