Dr. Brian Campbell

Research interests: The role of technical experts in public inquiries and courts, on technology diffusion in manufacturing firms, and on technology in Canadian higher education.
Biography
Dr. Brian Campbell, Professor and Dean of Graduate
Studies, came to the University of Ontario Institute of Technology from
the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Mount Allison
University where he taught from 1983 to 2003. He has extensive
curriculum development experience both at the university and at the
individual program level. While at Mount Allison, he served twice as
department head. He has a BA from the University of Guelph, a B.Phil.
from the University of York in England, and a PhD from McMaster
University.
Professor Campbell has conducted research on the role of
technical experts in public inquiries and courts, on technology
diffusion in manufacturing firms, on access to higher education, and on
technology in Canadian higher education. This educational technology
research includes the analysis of institutional policies and practices,
and the patterns of computer technology use of both university students
and faculty.
